What is AI Score?
AI Score measures how likely AI models are to discover, understand and use a page as source or reference.
It answers three fundamental questions:
- Can AI models find the content?
- Can AI models understand the content?
- Can AI models use the content?
AI Score is based on five core categories that together describe how AI models perceive your content:
AI Relevance
How well the content matches the semantic patterns AI models rely on when answering real-world questions. AI Relevance is a combination of semantic analysis, vector representation and structural evaluation, both on the overall text and how all sentences represent the overall topic.
Indexability / Discoverability
Whether AI models can technically access and read the page.
Content Quality
How clear, structured and knowledge-rich the text is, including density, variation, clarity and heading logic.
Authority / Trustworthiness
Signals that show whether the page is a reliable and credible source.
Freshness
How old the information is and when it was last updated.
No prompting, no generative AI, no assumptions, only deterministic data and mathematics.
Why AI Optimisation Matters
AI models evaluate content very differently from search engines. Search engines look broadly across the website. AI models go deep into individual pages and extract meaning at a much more granular level.
- Shallow content does not perform
- Click-bait, keyword-stuffing and marketing fluff will fail
- Factual depth, clarity and topic consistency win
AI optimised content is already visible in search. Google displays AI-generated answers with AI optimised content before classic links. AI optimisation is already here.

What’s next for AI Score?
AI Score is still early, and we continuously refine the algorithm for accuracy and business value.
We are currently exploring a version for corporations (small and large), where the AI optimisation of the entire presence, not just individual URLs is evaluated and visualised.
This work is in progress, and more will be shared soon.
